TwitPic - Visually Marketing Rental Property

marketing, rental property Add comments

A sample rental real estate listing on TwitPicYesterday I commented about how I’m starting to use social media and social networking to market our clients rental properties. Today I finally broke down and added something I’ve been considering for a while…and I’m going to test it to see if it yeilds any noticable results. This new fangled technology isn’t very new by web standards but it’s new to me — it’s call TwitPic and it allows me to post photos to the web that can be viewed on the TwitPic site — but it also automatically adds the photo to my tweets as a URL so that people can see the listing.

TwitPic and Marketing Rental Real Estate

The neat thing about TwitPic is that it also allows me to add the address of the property when I upload the photo — so there’s a Google Map handy for people to see exactly where the listing is located. When I send out my tweet I include a picture of the property and a link to my property management company web site that brings them directly to the listing.

If you’re interested in seeing how all of this works, simply go to www.Twitter.com/RentalsGuy and you’ll see my Tweet history. You can see the links and see how it call comes together nicely.

Oh Yeah…Marketing Results

One thing - if you noticed above, I said I was testing this to see what kind of results I get. I think I need to take a moment to actually define what I consider to be “results”. I’m not naive enough to think that my tweets are going to generate a renter. Far from it. Ultimately what my goal is is to use social networking and media to put links to my web site(s) in as many relevant places as I can so that Google sees me and likes me and chocks up another point or two in my favor for search results.

I’ve often seen my “RentalsGuy” twitter stream show up in search results on Google. So I’m angling to try and create more keyword relevant tweets. I’m sort of shooting in the dark here…I have no idea how much importance Google actually places on these kinds of links…but I’m still amazed that Google had ranked my property management web site so highly in just a few short months and I assume that I must be doing something right with regard to Google. So I’ll keep on tweaking
